Description
These exquisite flowers are truly breathtaking! In my opinion, they surpass roses in beauty, and the absence of thorns adds to their charm. These double camellia impatiens are heirloom varieties and boast a delightful fragrance. It’s no surprise they attract bees, birds, and butterflies.
Balsam plants, native to Southeast Asia, are cultivated in various regions worldwide for both ornamental and medicinal purposes. The juice extracted from its leaves is used to treat snakebites, while crushed flowers are applied to burns.
These plants thrive outdoors with partial shade or shade in the afternoon, or indoors with moderate sunlight. They bloom consistently throughout the year and are easy to grow from seeds, germinating readily. Depending on the weather, you can sow them directly into the ground or start indoors.
To facilitate germination, maintain moist soil, ensuring seeds sprout within one to two weeks. Light exposure aids faster germination; press seeds firmly into potting soil without covering them. Cover peat pots with clear plastic to retain moisture, securing it to the nursery tray on three sides, leaving one side open for excess moisture to escape. Check soil moisture every other day, lightly spraying water until the top inch is moist but not saturated. Replace the plastic cover after watering and remove it 5-7 days after seeds germinate.
